Founder, Executive Producer & Creative Director
I was raised on a family farm near Ontario’s west coast. I watched my parents navigate life with commodity-based income. If we succeeded more than we didn’t, we kept the farm and our livelihood. In my precious spare time, I discovered life in the meadows, streams, and forests around me. When it grew too dark to learn from the flora, fauna, and seasons, I read Greek mythology, Irish folklore, and Nancy Drew mysteries. I reflected on my own time and place. In an expression of unity with others, I proudly pledged my head, heart, hands, and health in each of the eighteen 4-H clubs I completed. In high-school, I studied English, French, Spanish and Latin literature which gave me insight into the universality of human life. When it came time to begin my own life’s story by committing to a profession, I didn’t follow a life in the Arts. Economics weighed heavily on my mind, so I attended an agricultural college. A diploma in food management was the sensible thing to do. Time rolled forward. I saw human life begin, change, and end in my healthcare roles in food, nutrition, and education. My family experienced heartache and illness. I loved and lost. I returned to the Arts. At university, I studied poetry and prose from the Middle Ages through to present day, until finally finding beauty in autobiography. I saw great literary theory appear effortlessly and unintentionally in the personal stories of everyday people’s lives. I found a different view of realism--- real people have overcome obstacles to make a difference. The Fates don't always win. I founded The Song Inside Inc. to showcase the joys of life in art and the possibilities it creates.

PAULINA BIALEK
Business Development & Marketing
I am a Registered Dietitian and Professional Home Economist. I completed my Master of Health Science degree in Nutrition Communication at Toronto Metropolitan University, with a focus on media strategy and authentic marketing. Artistry is at the heart of my work. I seek to connect humanity through the beauty found in everyday life. I launched Flourish with Food with the aim of connecting people with the many aspects of food, home, and practices carried on for generations before us, and at times forgotten about, like family cooking, recipe making and home gardening. I believe each of us play a unique part in the greater ecosystem. Together, we can envision a future in which we all flourish. I use the arts and humanities to look past our differences and unite us through our shared human purpose.

Growing up in rural Norfolk County shaped my experience of the world. Many memories of my childhood involved food and making things myself. Baking blueberry pie with grandma, sharing Pancake Tuesday at the community center, and ditch diving for asparagus are a few examples. I remember cucumber salad on the menu in the summer and frozen corn to enjoy in the winter. Food brought friends and family together and filled the garden, cupboard, and our hearts.
In high school, I fell in love with science. I realized foods’ purpose for the body. My fascination of food and its connection to human health and environment led me to become a Registered Dietitian. I began by studying Foods and Nutrition at the former Brescia University College to obtain my degree and completed a Master of Science in the same field at Western University. While in university, I gained experience working in the food industry, learning about quality control. I then became a server at a family-owned restaurant, where I appreciated the beauty of social connection over food. An adventure that contributed to my worldview, was my attendance at the World Food Forum, a UN youth event where I engaged in dialogue about food system transformation. I consider myself an artist, expressed through preparing homemade dishes, painting landscapes, and engaging in meaningful conversations with people around me. Guided by creativity and passion, I hope to inspire you to discover your unique role in shaping a better future.
